Hope Island Resort is home to an 18 hole championship course designed by five times British Open champion Peter Thomson, and the great team at Thompson, Wolveridge and Perrett.

The layout, reminiscent of some British iconic traditional “links” courses, has been designed to make the good golfer “consider” each shot against the natural elements and hazards, together with those introduced by the shrewd composers.

Bunkers crafted to appear as though they have been shaped by a century of wind and rain, undulating fairways that weave through water and tussock-fringed rough, and elevated swale surrounded greens.
Hope Island has it all, and just like the links courses of Scotalnd, its nature is very much influenced by the vagaries of the weather. An early morning round when the air is still can present a benign side of Hope, but to claim you have truly conquered this course it must also be played when the wind is up and all of the course’s defences are their strongest.
