The Golf Club Kennedy Bay provides the traditional true links experience as found in Scotland and Ireland.
It is a par 72 course, constructed amidst 10000 year old sand dunes and natural bushland, offering magnificent northerly views over Warnbro Sound and the Indian Ocean. The course opened in 1999 and has since been substantially upgraded to become one of the best courses in the southern hemisphere.
Tournament tees stretch the course to 6240 meters (tournament), 6154 meters (championship), 5851 meters (regular) and 5298 meters (ladies) with 1019 bent grass greens. Tees and fairways are Windsor Green Bermuda.
Some of the key factors that make playing Kennedy Bay a great experience are:
Perfect putting surfaces and firm, fast running fairways in splendid links tradition
Riveted bunkers (rare in Australian golf)
118 pot style bunkers and large undulating greens
Delightful and challenging layout
Holes 5 and 7 share the largest double green in WA, duplicating the famous double green of the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland
Hole 4, a monstrous 520 meter par 5, is aptly named “HELL”, referring to the large “man-eating” bunker positioned 125 meters from the green
Hole 16 is named “WEE TAP”, measuring only 128 meters, but the green is only 11 paces wide and is guarded by 2 spectacular bunkers at the back as well as a deep pot bunker at the front.
