LOCATION
Pacific Dunes is ideally located 20 minutes from Nelson Bay, 25 minutes from Newcastle and 2hrs drive north of Sydney.
Travel from Newcastle
• Travel north along Nelson Bay Road past the Newcastle Airport turnoff.
• Turn left at the round about onto Medowie Road (on the corner of the Williamtown RAAF base).
• Travel along Medowie Road and drive through the first round about, travel for approximately 600 metres before turning right into South Street and then right at the first roundabout into Championship Drive.
Travel from Nelson Bay
• Travel south along Nelson Bay Road and turn right at the second Salt Ash roundabout (Paul’s corner and Saxby’s bakery) onto Richardson Road heading towards Raymond Terrace.
• Travel along Richardson Road to the first roundabout, and turn right into Medowie Road.
• Travel on Medowie Road for approximately 600 metres (Pacific Dunes is on the right hand side) before turning right into South Street and then right at the first roundabout into Championship Drive.
Travel from Sydney
• Travel north along the F1 Sydney / Newcastle Freeway.
• Turn right at the end of the freeway onto New England / Maitland Highway (North Coast exit) and then veer right towards Newcastle at the overpass.
• Travel along the New England / Maitland Highway and turn left onto the Pacific Highway at Hexham, going over the Hexham bridge heading towards Raymond Terrace.
• Drive through Heatherbrae and straight through the roundabout and take the Nelson Bay exit on the left. Turn right at the roundabout travelling around Grahamstown dam and turn left at the roundabout into Medowie Road.
• Travel on Medowie Road for approximately 600 metres (Pacific Dunes is on the right hand side) before turning right into South Street and then right at the first roundabout into Championship Drive.

Pacific Dunes combines two distinct nine-hole loops to create a spectacular 18-hole championship layout. The opening nine holes wind through a native woodland setting, perfectly complementing the stunning wetland back nine.
The layout allows golfers to experience two very different styles of play on the one course.
Designed by renowned course architect, James Wilcher, the layout uses the strategic placement of bunkers and water hazards to create a golf course that is extremely playable to the average golfer, whilst still challenging to low handicappers.
The course has been designed so that golfers are forced to think before every shot, rather than automatically pulling out the driver and trying to drive it as far as possible.
The course was constructed on land that had been used to mine sand 10 years previously. The regeneration of this land has not only provided a number of environmental benefits to the area, it also formed the optimum base for a golf course - sand.
The sand base provides similar underlying conditions to the famous Melbourne courses – flowing gentle lines on all holes. The excellent course drainage combined with the agronomic expertise of Troon Golf ensures that the golfers enjoy a course that is presented at tournament standard – seven days a week.
Visitors to Pacific Dunes will experience some of the finest putting surfaces in Australia. The combination of the sand base together with the use of a technologically advanced bent grass, combine to produce greens that not only look fantastic, but produce the truest of surfaces.
