Waterford Valley is a new par 72, 6549m long “championship course”, unique in that it had a 4 year “grow in period” which has produced a “strong test of golf.”
30 minutes from Melbourne CBD and central to the Eastern Suburbs with valley views of the Dandenong Ranges, it is rated Metropolitan Melbourne’s “best pay for play” golf course.
The undulating “Santa Anna Couch” sensational fairways are fully irrigated and provide wide ”fluffy” landing zones so you can “have a go” off the tee, careful club selection can provide ample landing space, whereby well executed bold shots are rewarded.
However, you will need to negotiate the 63 bunkers and 11 lakes, which provide the water storage and recycled irrigation,which overflows into the wetlands,there is an abundance of birdlife and platypus.
All holes have multiple numbers of strategically placed tees, which provide golfers of all abilities choice as to what level of hardship they wish,considering that the course is rated par 75 off the Black Tees.
The huge bent grass greens are,multi tiered, absolutely true and slick, there are 4 great signature holes including the 18th rated number 1 hole, with it’s challenging Island green.
The Clubhouse which is substantial provides a licenced bar, café,
2 corporate dining areas and a sports club lounge.
